2025-06-12 Chinese Traditional Color Collection and Detection Research V

Recently, TASCII, together with TASACI, supported by the Guizhou Moutai Group's "Eastern Traditional Color Plan" project, have carried out standard color measurement work for mural color restoration samples. Under standard lighting, they have collected color values and spectral curves for 29 colors of the restoration color card samples, including cinnabar, red lead, azurite, malachite, gold leaf, and more.

The restored color samples are from Professor Ning Qiang, the Dean of the Art Research Institute of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and his team.

 

 

The research team used professional instruments and software to obtain the spectral information, CIE Lab values, RGB color values, and HEX codes of the color samples, establishing a rigorous, reproducible, and easily applicable color database for traditional colors. This database can also simulate the appearance of mural colors under different lighting conditions, thereby providing support for the research and design applications of mural color restoration.
