2018-05-16 GID-CMF Training Program (2)
GID is a global innovation design graduate project co built by Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University and Royal College of Art and Imperial College London. It aims to create a unique cross cultural / cross professional, high-level / compound innovative talent by integrating the two important resources of design, culture and industry center in Asia and Europe.
Today, the GID project has entered the CMF workshop stage. The teachers of Tsinghua Institute of color led the students to start the first stop of CMF practical operation: Colour.
In the practice of expressing emotions and feelings with color, we have found some interesting phenomena: for the same keywords, the students of the East and the West sometimes have a big difference.
To express “safe ” in color, a student from the UK, says security reminds him of “ love, family and warmth”. Love is safe, so he uses red to express “ safe ”.
But the classmate from China says that for him, green makes him feel comfortable and relaxed, so he uses green to express “ safe” .
Color cognition is closely related to human experience and experience. Different cultural background, growth experience, sex and age can be different in cognition and association of color. People always describe the color of things according to their own thinking and value scales, give words to the cultural connotations of the nation, and have a significant cultural brand on the association of colors.
